JAMMU: Central University of Jammu today successfully conducted the "Udhyam Jagriti 5.0" campaign, a flagship initiative under the Government of Jammu & Kashmir's Mission YUVA, aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, and self-reliance among the youth. The event was organized under the guidance and mentorship of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, and under the supervision of Prof. Vinay Kumar, Dean, School of Basic and Applied Sciences.
The program witnessed a confluence of academic leaders and a successful entrepreneur who shared their insights with enthusiastic students. The campaign focused on key areas including Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Start-up Ecosystem Awareness, Skill Development & Capacity Building, and building an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) tomorrow.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the Programme Chair, Prof. Vinay Kumar, followed by an address from Dushyant Singh, Career Counseling Officer, who discussed Mission YUVA in detail, setting the tone for a day of learning and inspiration.
The event featured insights from a distinguished team of experts including Prof. Jaya Bhasin and Dr. Shahid Mushtaqand representatives from the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC), Samba, including Mr. Dushyant Singh, Career Counseling Officer, Ms. Anmol Sharma, Business Help Desk Coordinator, and Ms. Anisha Devi, Small Business Development Unit Coordinator, who provided practical insights on establishing new enterprises.
A highlight of the program was an inspiring address by a successful entrepreneur Ms. Maqsood Akhter who shared her journey of securing financial assistance and establishing a bakery business. She credited the "hand-holding" and support provided by the Mission YUVA team for her success and encouraged students to "Think Big. Start Now. Shine Always," demonstrating that with the right guidance, turning an idea into a sustainable business is achievable. Students were also made aware of the "Innovation & Sustainability Challenge" launched under Mission YUVA.
