JAMMU: Continuing the series of vibrant programmes being organised in the run-up to Independence Day, a delightful cultural evening was organised at Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu, following the earlier programmes presented by CRPF and BSF. The celebrations are continuing with a variety of cultural programmes up to 15th August 2026, creating an atmosphere of joy, patriotism and togetherness for the elderly residents.
A special programme featuring folk dances, soulful singing and other colourful cultural performances was presented by a talented group of artists led by Ms. Shanaya Khanna. The artists â Shaista Kousar Mir, Taniya Pajogtra, Vishali Verma, Sachin Mehra, Vishal Kumar and Amit Gill â captivated the audience with their energetic performances and beautiful presentation of Indiaâs rich cultural heritage.
The performances brought immense happiness to the residents, who thoroughly enjoyed the music, dance and festive spirit. The programme also provided a meaningful opportunity for the younger generation of artists to share their talent and connect with the elderly in an atmosphere filled with warmth and affection.
The programme was attended by members of the Managing Committee, including Er. Pankaj Gupta, Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary, Er. Vijay Gupta, Jt.Secretary, and Managing Committee Members S.Rattandeep Singh Anand, Shri Satpal Sharma,Shri Vijay Dhawan, Sr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Ritesh Gupta and, Smt. Sudha Gupta along with officials and all Inmates of the Home.
The ongoing celebrations are being organised with the spirit of âCelebrating Freedom, Celebrating Togethernessâ, ensuring that the elderly residents are made an integral part of the Independence Day festivities. The series will culminate with the Independence Day celebrations on 15th August, bringing together patriotism, culture, music and the blessings of the elders.
