• Lauds Health Department for its role in achieving TB-free status across the Panchayats

BUDGAM: The District Administration Budgam today organized a felicitation ceremony to honor panchayats for achieving TB-free status under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) programme. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo presided over the felicitation ceremony at the District Headquarters to honor 143 panchayats for achieving TB-free status under NTEP.

The event saw the presence of State TB Officer Kashmir, Dr. Adnan Yaseen; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Moud Ayoub, all Block Medical Officers (BMOs), and other NTEP staff. The recognized panchayats were awarded certificates and mementos for their efforts in the ‘TB Mukt Panchayat’ initiative. Out of 296 Gram Panchayats in Budgam, 143 claimed TB-free status, which was verified and confirmed by the district’s verification team.

The DC praised the dedication of health officials, panchayat members and the community in this achievement. The event highlighted the administration’s commitment to public health and the importance of continued efforts to prevent TB, ensuring that all panchayats in Budgam can work towards being recognised as TB-free Panchayats.
