POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today visited the Yatra Base Camp (College Grounds) to review the arrangements being put in place for the annual Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra, scheduled to commence from August 17.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed assessment of the ongoing preparations and reviewed the arrangements required for the convenience, safety and welfare of the pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed well in advance, with special focus on cleanliness, sanitation, drinking water, power supply, security, traffic management and other essential facilities, so that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience during their stay and onward journey.
The DC emphasised close coordination among all concerned departments and directed the officers to remain vigilant and ensure timely completion of all assigned responsibilities.
The Deputy Commissioner said that advance measures should be ensured to provide a safe, smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience to the devotees visiting the district.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Shafket Hussain Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed, besides other senior officers and officials concerned.
