PURA: Government Industrial Training Institute (Govt ITI), R.S. Pura, observed International Youth Day 2026 with a special awareness programme on HIV/AIDS. This year’s theme was “Local Actions, Global Impact – Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future.” The programme was organized under the guidance of the Superintendent, Govt ITI R.S. Pura Sr. Amandeep Singh with the participation of faculty members and trainees.
Addressing the trainees, the Superintendent delivered an informative talk on HIV/AIDS, its causes, symptoms, prevention, myths and facts, and the important role of youth in creating awareness and promoting responsible health practices.
A Poster making and speech Competition was also organized as part of the programme. Trainees participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity and communication skills.
Certificates were distributed to the winners of the Poster making and Speech Competition by the Superintendent to appreciate their performance and encourage greater participation, creativity and talent among the trainees.
The Superintendent emphasized the importance of correct information and awareness in combating HIV/AIDS and said, “Knowledge is the biggest weapon against HIV/AIDS. Youth have the power to break myths and build a healthier, informed society.”
The programme aimed to empower young people with accurate information about HIV/AIDS, promote awareness and reduce stigma, while encouraging them to contribute positively towards building a healthy and informed society.
