KATRA: The IEEE Student Branch of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), in collaboration with the Board of Professional Activities (BPA), organized an insightful IEEE Tech Talk aimed at fostering technical awareness, innovation, and professional development among students and research scholars.
At the outset, Prof. Dr. Ajay Kaul , Professor, School of Computer Science and Engineering welcomed the students, research scholars, and faculty members to the event, followed by a brief description about the activities conducted by IEEE Student branch and the various activities under its umbrella by Faculty committee IEEE student branch SMVDU Dr. Naveen Gondhi , Dr.Sakshi Arora and Dr. Pooja Sharma highlighting the benefits of IEEE student membership.
The event was inaugurated by the Honâble Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, who encouraged students to become IEEE student members and make the most of the opportunities offered by such endeavours. He emphasized that diligence, continuous learning, and thorough research are essential for students aspiring to build successful careers in technology and engineering being in association with IEEE, the largest technical professional organisation dedicated to advances in technology.
Dr. Ankush Raina, President, Board of Professional Activities, apprised the audience about the universityâs technical clubs and highlighted the diverse activities and events conducted under the BPA, encouraging students to actively participate in all the professional activities.The technical programme featured two distinguished sessions.
The first session was delivered by Dr. Karan Verma, Associate Professor, NIT Delhi, on âGraph neural network based Trust Aware secure routing for LEO Satellite Networks,â providing valuable insights into secure communication and networking in satellite systems.The second session was conducted by Dr. Karan Nathwani on âReal-Time weed Classification Using Raspberry Pi,â highlighting practical applications of embedded systems and real-time computing.
The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Pooja Sharma, who expressed her sincere gratitude to the Honâble Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Prof. Pragti Kumar, the organizing team, faculty members, students, and research scholars for their valuable support and contributions towards the successful conduct of the event.
