JAMMU:The sacred festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with immense devotion, joy and spiritual fervour at Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu. The celebration brought together the residents, members and well-wishers of the Ashram in an atmosphere filled with faith, happiness and a beautiful sense of togetherness.

The Ashram was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with an enchanting Jhanki of Lord Shri Krishna becoming the centre of attraction. The beautifully presented tableau created a serene and devotional atmosphere and added a special charm to the celebrations.

The programme included devotional bhajans, prayers and Aarti of Lord Shri Krishna. What made the occasion particularly special was the enthusiastic participation of the Ashram's residents. The elderly residents, with remarkable energy and enthusiasm, danced joyfully to devotional bhajans, bringing smiles and warmth to everyone present. Their spontaneous participation and graceful expressions of devotion became one of the most cherished moments of the celebration.

The Aarti was performed with devotion, followed by prayers for the health, happiness, peace and well-being of all the residents and members of the Ashram. The entire premises resonated with devotional music and chants of “Jai Shri Krishna” and “Radhe-Radhe.”

The celebration was graced by Er. Pankaj Gupta, President; Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary; Vijay Gupta, Joint Secretary; Dr. Surinder Kumar; Vijay Dhawan; Sr. Rajinder Singh and Sudha Gupta, Committee Members who joined the residents in celebrating the auspicious occasion.

The presence of Mrs. Minu Mahajan, Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE), further added warmth and dignity to the occasion. She interacted with the residents and shared in the joy of the Janmashtami celebrations.

The members present appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of the residents and observed that celebrations of festivals such as Janmashtami provide much more than a religious experience. They create moments of companionship, emotional well-being, happiness and a sense of belonging, enabling the residents to celebrate important occasions in a warm, family-like environment.

The arrangements and coordination of the programme were supported by all staff members who also extended their active assistance in making the celebration a smooth and memorable one. The celebration concluded with a collective Aarti and distribution of Prasad, with the residents and guests joining together in the spirit of devotion and fellowship.

The Janmashtami celebration at Vridh Ashram was a beautiful reminder that age cannot diminish the joy of celebration, the strength of faith or the warmth of togetherness. The smiles, devotional spirit and joyful participation of the residents made the occasion truly memorable and reflected the Ashram's enduring commitment to creating an environment of dignity, care, companionship and happiness for its residents.
