ANANTNAG: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Anantnag, in collaboration with District Administration and Government College for Women (GCW) Anantnag, today organised a District-Level “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” competitive programme in the Auditorium of Govt Degree College (W) Anantnag.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of young people in eight competitive events aimed at creating awareness among youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging them to become ambassadors of a drug-free India. The competitions included Folk Songs, Dance, Nukkad Natak/Mime Acts, Painting, Debate/Elocution, Short Film/Reel, Slogan Writing and Slam Poetry.
ADC Anantnag, Vikas Ahlawat, was the Chief Guest, while Principal GDC Dr. Khalida Hassan, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. In his presidential address, the ADC appreciated the efforts of Mera Yuva Bharat in organising such meaningful and youth-centric programmes. He applauded the enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the participants and emphasised the important role of young people in creating awareness against substance abuse. He encouraged the youth to become positive role models and actively contribute towards building a healthier and more developed society.
Earlier, Principal Dr. Khalida Hassan delivered the welcome address calling for effective convergence of MY Bharat initiative with higher education institutions. Deputy Director, MY Bharat Anantnag, Khushal Gupta, addressed the gathering and briefed the participants and guests about the objectives, structure and significance of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” programme. He highlighted the role of youth in combating substance abuse and contributing towards the vision of a developed and drug-free India.
A Nasha Mukt Pledge was also administered to all participants and attendees, reaffirming their collective commitment to staying away from drugs and promoting a healthy, responsible and drug-free society. At the conclusion, awards and certificates were presented to the position holders of all eight competitive events in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The successful conduct of the programme reaffirmed the commitment of Mera Yuva Bharat Anantnag towards engaging youth in constructive activities and strengthening the collective campaign for a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
