JAMMU; Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW Jammu (Social Welfare Department) on Monday organised an awareness session on Menstrual hygiene here at Hindustan Pencil Pvt Limited Factory Talab Tillo. The officials of Mission Shakti educated Factory’s female workers about menstruation and its biological significance, importance of safe and hygienic practices.

They addressed the myths and misconceptions, encouraged confidence and open discussions on menstrual health. The target audience was female factory workers. Officials also explained the menstrual cycle in simple terms, the role of hormones and why periods happen,

Stressing on hygiene & Safe Practices, the team highlighted the importance of using clean sanitary products (pads, menstrual cups, cloth pads), way to change and dispose of sanitary products properly, preventing infections through proper cleaning and drying of reusable cloth pads etc.  Further, the Officials of Mission Shakti also distributed Sanitary Napkins among the workers and made female workers aware about the  ways of water conservation .
