HANDWARA: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession. A police team led by SHO Police Station Handwara, during routine patrolling on GMC Handwara Road, intercepted a suspicious person. He has been identified as Abdul Wahid Bhat, son of Ab Khaliq Bhat, a resident of Turkpora Zachaldara. During search, 9.14 grams of a brown sugar-like substance was recovered from his possession. Subsequently he has been arrested.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara & further investigation has been initiated.
