SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP-HEW Srinagar, organized an interactive session on "Business Women Interaction with Young Girls from Minority Communities" at Check-i-Sangri, Khonmoh, Srinagar in collaboration with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) on Tuesday.
The programme, organized under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, aimed to motivate and empower young girls from minority communities by exposing them to inspiring entrepreneurial journeys and creating awareness about opportunities for self-employment, skill development, and economic empowerment.
The session featured a successful women business entrepreneur, who shared her experiences, highlighting the importance of determination, innovation, and perseverance in establishing a successful enterprise.
The resource person from the Women Development Corporation provided valuable insights into various government schemes, financial assistance, entrepreneurship development programmes, and support mechanisms available for aspiring women entrepreneurs.
The interaction was highly engaging, with participants actively discussing career aspirations, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and the role of women in contributing to economic growth. The resource persons encouraged the young girls to develop confidence, acquire relevant skills, and make use of government initiatives designed for their socio-economic upliftment.
Officials of SANKALP-HEW Srinagar emphasized the department's commitment to promoting women's empowerment and creating platforms that inspire young girls to become financially independent and active contributors to society.
