SHOPIAN: On the eve of ‘World Tuberculosis Day’,  Department of Health Shopian today organized a programme with the theme ‘Yes we can end TB, Commit, Invest and Deliver.’ The program was chaired by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone. The focus was laid on raising awareness about the prevention and treatment of the disease.

Speaking on the occasion, ADDC emphasized the importance of collective efforts in eradicating TB from the district. He said the day serves as a reminder to strengthen the fight against this infectious disease. The event included interactive sessions where health experts educated attendees about the symptoms, causes, and preventive measures for TB. They urged people to avail free diagnostic and treatment services available at government health centers.

World TB Day is observed annually on March 24 to raise awareness and accelerate efforts toward eliminating tuberculosis globally. ACD, Manzoor Ahmad; CMO, Dr.Arshid Hussain Tak; Dy. CMO, DTO, BMOs, medical professionals, health workers and others concerned were present.
