  • Creation of posts at 10+2 level in upgraded schools to be taken up soon

JAMMU: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari informed the House that 8000 posts are being created at different levels in the State to augment human resource for the newly up-graded 200 Middle Schools to High Schools and 200 High Schools to Higher Secondary Schools. The Minister said this while replying to a Calling Attention Notice moved by MLA Pawan Gupta regarding shortage of permanent staff at Barta Higher Secondary School.

 

The minister informed that the Department on completion of this ongoing recruitment process shall initiate process for creation of posts at 10+2 level in already upgraded schools, including Higher Secondary School, Barta. With regards to the present staff position at Barta Higher Secondary School, he said that department has made the Higher Secondary School fully functional by way of internal arrangement to ensure that the education doesn’t suffer.

JAMMU: Minister for Revenue, Hajj and Auqaf and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today informed the House that alternate public Transport Service for the passengers of old city in Srinagar is available on circular road. Responding to a calling attention notice by Shamim Firdous, Minister said the alternate transport service for the passengers of various old city areas is available on circular road via. M.A link Road, Ikhwan Chowk, Baba Dawood Bridge, Khanyar, Bohrikadal route.

 

He said earlier transport facility was available from Gawkadal to Bohri Kadal via Habba-kadal, but the route being very narrow is unsuitable for plying the new mini buses and hence the route was modified. The minister also informed the house that lady Special Bus Service of JKSRTC is being operated on daily basis from Lal Chowk to Lal Bazaar/Hazratbal via Bohrikadal which also caters to the said destination.

JAMMU: Minister for Forests, Choudhary Lal Singh informed the House that demarcation of all notified wetlands of the state has been initiated in collaboration with concerned Revenue Authorities. Replying to a question of Legislator M. Y. Tarigami, the Minister said that during 2017-18 Union Government has approved an amount of Rs 59.00 lakh under centrally sponsored scheme for survey and demarcation, surveillance, habitat development, awareness etc for Hokersar, he added and said that the funds for conservation and protection of these natural assets are managed through various centrally sponsored schemes, Capex Budget and CAMPA funds.

 

The Minister said that there was no proposal for inter-linkage of wetlands, lakes, canals with river Jhelum. He further added that there is no report of illegal construction, mining activities and stone crushers inside the protected areas. He said that no construction activities are allowed in wildlife protected areas including Protected Areas In Gulmarg Wildlife Sanctuary, Overa-Aru Wildlife Sanctuary in Pahalgam and Thajwas Wildlife Sanctuary in Sonmarg. For strengthening Wildlife department, the Minister said 76 vacancies have been referred to the SSRB and PSC for filling vacant posts in different categories. He said the proposal for reorganization of the department for strengthening the manpower and ratio of employees is under consideration of the government, he said.
