DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to assess the functioning of healthcare institutions, progress on ongoing projects and overall service delivery across the district.

The meeting was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Block Medical Officers, Child Development Project Officers and other concerned officers and officials.

The DDC took an in-depth review of Block-wise achievements under the Vandanana Scheme, Block-wise Presumptive TB Testing and follow-up actions, Progress and beneficiary support under Nikshay Poshan Yojana, engagement and contribution of Nikshay Mitras for welfare of TB patients, status of TB Preventive Treatment (TPT), functioning of Anganwadi Centres, Model AWCs and newly established Kindergarten Centres, preparations and coverage targets under the Pulse Polio Programme.

The DDC directed the Block Medical Officers and CDPOs to put in extra efforts for effective implementation of TB control measures, enhancing community mobilization and monitoring vulnerable groups, especially children under the TPT category. He emphasized the need for complete coverage under Nikshay Poshan Yojana and appreciated the role of Nikshay Mitras in supporting TB patients.

Reviewing the ICDS sector, the DDC stressed improving the quality of services at Anganwadi Centres, ensuring availability of nutrition supplies and strengthening the Model AWCs and Kindergarten Centres to enhance early childhood care and education.

The DDC also instructed officials to expedite the completion of ongoing health infrastructure projects and improve coordination between field-level workers for better outreach and service delivery. He called for renewed efforts to ensure coverage under the upcoming Pulse Polio drive to safeguard children from vaccine-preventable diseases.
