DODA: In an inspiring effort to promote art in education and nurture the artistic talent of young students, a District Level Kala Utsav was held today here at GHSS Boys. The annual event, part of the Samagra Shiksha Scheme under the Ministry of Education, brought together students from across the district, providing them a platform to showcase their artistic prowess and celebrate the richness of Indiaâs cultural heritage.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Aslam; Chief Education Officer (CEO) and school principals. The guests commenced the program by lighting the traditional lamp, symbolizing enlightenment and the spirit of celebration.
Kala Utsav focuses on encouraging secondary level students to explore the fields of art and culture, while helping them develop a strong sense of heritage and diversity. Top performers from Zonal Level competitions, held in various zones across the district, delivered captivating performances that highlighted their artistic skills and dedication.
DC and SSP also inspected various stalls set up by participating schools, where students showcased their creative displays. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm shown by both students and their teachers.
In alignment with Vigilance Awareness Week, the event included a pledge ceremony, where participants committed to uphold transparency and accountability, reinforcing the core values of integrity. The event concluded with lively cultural performances and saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, heads of institutions (HOIs), and the general public, making it a truly vibrant and memorable celebration of the arts.
