SHOPIAN: The District Sheep Husbandry Organization, Shopian conducted an Awareness cum Medicine Distribution Camp today at the Sheep Development Block in Meemendar, under the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP). This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance animal health and promote sustainable sheep farming practices in the district.
During the event, 100 free medicine kits were distributed to sheep farmers, aiming to improve the health and well-being of their livestock. In addition to the distribution of medicines, participants were educated on best practices in sheep farming and informed about various schemes implemented by the Department.
The programme featured on-the-spot redressal of grievances, ensuring that farmers' concerns were promptly addressed. This initiative underscores the commitment of the District Sheep Husbandry Organization to support and resolve the issues faced by the farming community. The camp was chaired by DSHO, Shopian Dr. Tariq Ahmad Malik and attended by Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Khanday, Sheep and Wool Development Officer, Shopian, Dr. Irshad Maqbool, Block Officer, Meemendar, along with other officials of the Department.
