JAMMU: The Inter-Collegiate Football (Men's) Tournament 2024-25, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, concluded with MIET College Jammu clinch the championship title. The final match was held at the Football Ground, University of Jammu. The tournament provides an excellent platform to the players from various affiliated Colleges of the University of Jammu to showcase their skills, determination and sportsmanship.
In a thrilling final, MIET College triumphed over the PG Department University of Jammu in a closely contested penalty shootout, securing victory with a score of 5-4.
Earlier in the semi-finals:
PG Department JU defeated GMC Kathua with a dominant 4-1 performance.
MIET Jammu advanced by defeating GDC Udhampur with a convincing 3-0 score line.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion of the Football (M) Championship 2024-25, in the presence of Mr. Vimal Kishore, Sh. Raj Kumar Bakshi, Sh. Ravish Vaid, Sh. Vikas Karlopia, Sh. Gagan Kumar, Sdr. P.D Singh, Sh. Jai Bharat, Sh. Shamsher Singh, Sh. Sukomal Ganguly, Sh. Ashok Singh Bali, Sdr. Inderjeet Singh, Sh. Rishiv Sharma, Sh. Manjeet Kotwal, Ms. Richa Mandla, Ms. Vandna Sharma and other dignitaries, players, officials from participating colleges present on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Sh. Dheeraj Menia, Sh. Abhishek, Sh. Dil Bhadur, Sh. Kartik Sharma, Sh. Gagan Kumar.
