MANSAR: As a part of developing Mansar as the prime destination of Tourism in Jammu region, Mr Ranbir Singh Pathania MLA Ramnagar today kick started the macdamisation of Mansar-Surinsar road. In order to give fillip to the tourism activities in the area of Mansar-Surinsar, Mr Pathania had raised the issue of macdamisation of Samba-Mansar road and now fully metalled road has been dedicated to the public thus saving lot of time, resources and money. Now, with the start of macdamistion on Mansar-Surinsar road, tourist activities in this area will get a boost.

Mr Pathania laid thrust on the infrastructure development in and around the Mansar area so that tourists influx can be increased. He called the need for a collaborative planning amongst the different agencies and different departments so that a holistic development of the area can be achieved. Mr Pathania further said that the Mansar lake is of immense historical, religious, aesthetic, scientific significance. And it has the potential of blooming into a major tourist spot of Jammu district just on way to Holy Shrine of Sri Mata Vaishno Devi, as such, beholds greater opportunities of development, exposure, livelihood-earning and revenue-generation.

Regarding the condition of Jammu-Mansar road via Surinsar, He said that practically the Journey from Jammu to Mansar via Surinsar should not take more than half an hour but present road is not only lengthy but full of sharp curves. He said that there is a dire road need to redefine the drawing of this road so as to shorten the journey time and develop this as a Viable Picnic Spot. Mr Pathania informed that a Master-Plan for all-round development of the area has been carefully crafted put in public domain for inviting suggestions/ objection if any, from all the stake holders. Boating Club and Tourist Reception Center has been given a face lift. To give a fillip to the MICE tourism, work on a conference Hall and 2 VVIP Suites  (Guest House) is under progress. Mr Pathania was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority, Mr Arvind Kotwal, Officers of PWD and other line departments.
