- Priya Sethi provides Ambulance to Women NGO Sampark Economical Development Society
JAMMU: “Society had a bigger role to play and every individual must prioritize his duty by indulging more in welfare activities especially the youth”. Former Minister and MLA, Priya Sethi stated this after handing over the Ambulance to Sampark Economical Development Society at Purani Mandi today. To provide better and swift medical facilities at the door step, the Ambulance costing Rs 3,54,196/- Lakhs was donated by the MLA through her Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi underlined the aim and purpose of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, and said that the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to provide assured, comprehensive and quality antenatal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month.
She further stated that the PMSMA guarantees a minimum package of antenatal care services to women in their 2nd / 3rd trimesters of pregnancy at designated government health facilities. The programme follows a systematic approach for engagement with private sector which includes motivating private practitioners to volunteer for the campaign; developing strategies for generating awareness and appealing to the private sector to participate in the Abhiyan at government health facilities.

Priya Sethi applauded the President of Sampark Economical Development Society, Nisha Verma and other members of the NGO for selflessly devoting themselves towards the noble cause and called upon more such organizations to come forward and contribute their part by serving for the cause of welfare of the people and make the world a better place to live.
The MLA called for collective efforts to empower the women as no nation can be empowered and developed without empowering each and every section of society. Members of the society Shifali Sharma Secretary, Chander Kant (Treasure), Shivali Vaid, Neelam Gupta, Sushant Baigra (Member) expressed their gratitude towards the MLA for showing her sincere interest for the noble cause.
Emphasizing on public contribution, Priya Sethi said that every individual must volunteer himself to assist the needy to develop a sense of security among them. The MLA assured that every possible measure will be taken for immediate redress of the grievances with special focus on the underprivileged and stressed on the need of raising massive awareness among the people about the welfare schemes and programmes.
During her address, President Sampark Economical Development Society, Nisha Verma highlighted the working of the NGO and informed that the organization has been working in the field of socio economic development to give benefit to the SC/ST, weaker section of the society, poor masses especially women, Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribes. This organization has conducted Educational/Training Programmes, Seminars/Awareness Camps (National Integration, Anti drugs, Population control, Save Girl Child Campaign, Aids Programme, Sports programe, child & Women health care etc.) throughout the remote/Border Areas of Jammu and Kashmir State, she added.
