JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu concluded its three-day Staff Training Programme, Align and Aspire, with a grand valedictory ceremony held on 9th July 2025. The programme, conducted from 7th to 9th July 2025, aimed to build institutional capacity by aligning the staff with the Institute’s core values, enhancing their professional competencies, and fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence. The valedictory ceremony of the training programme took place on 9th July 2025 at the Vivekananda Classroom and was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.
Also present on the occasion were Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research; Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics;Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam and Media and Communication Division; Prof. Ravij Seth, Professor of Practice; Dr. Harsha Jariwala, Co-Chairperson, Student Affairs; Shri Shailesh. K. Lohiya, Librarian, and Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran, CAO, IIM Jammu and along with officers and staff members.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, highlighted that people are the true strength of any institution and stressed the importance of empowering staff to be active contributors rather than passive executors. He emphasized that a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and mutual respect is key to taking IIM Jammu to greater heights.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, remarked that the Align and Aspire programme helped in strengthening a shared vision and played a vital role in integrating individual competencies with the Institute’s core objectives. Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, noted that capable and motivated teams are the foundation of high-performing institutions, and this initiative was a step towards fostering team spirit, skill enhancement, and accountability.
Participants of the Align and Aspire training programme shared their reflections during the valedictory ceremony, expressing appreciation for the structure, relevance, and impact of the sessions. Many staff members spoke about gaining a deeper understanding of institutional processes, improving interpersonal communication, and cultivating a greater sense of responsibility and engagement.
The programme is being conducted in two phases, with Phase 1 participants staying on campus for the entire duration of the training to ensure full engagement. The sessions also offered an opportunity for cross-functional learning, team bonding, and experience sharing among staff members. The ceremony concluded with a note of appreciation to all facilitators, organizers, and participants, reaffirming IIM Jammu’s commitment to fostering a responsive, efficient, and growth-oriented administrative ecosystem through such initiatives as Align and Aspire.
