JAMMU / MUMBAI: Actor Naveen Pandita, who rose to fame with Star Bharat's Jiji Maa is all set to tie knot with his long time girl friend, Shubhi Choudhary on the 27th of April, 2019 at Rajmahal Resorts, Shamli. The actor is a Kashmiri Pandit too.
Recently, we got in touch with him for a short interview, here are the Excerpts.
- How did acting happen to you?
My dad was a part of a Kashmiri theater group in Jammu, I used to watch him rehearse and perform. It started from there, but as the sayings go for a Middle class boy ' sapne sapne hi rehne do', I stopped dreaming but I never quit on my dreams, so I found my escape in studies and got out of the small town life and started persuing my dreams.
- Challenges that you've faced in your journey?
My journey is no different than any other actor or a small townie. Firstly, I had to prove myself to my parents that m worth leaving my job for this dicey career, I had to go through deceptions, rejections and again rejections. Days don't get better you just become stronger provided you are passionate enough. You have to deal with frustrations and people repeatedly keeping you on a hook, still you have to stay humble. "In short you have to dig a well everyday to drink water."
- How and when did you meet Shubhi?
I am a former IT engineer and my fiance shubhi is still an IT professional l, so I met her there at the gym of our firm, we happened because of the common interest we share i.e fitness.
- Tell us something about your wedding? What special arrangements and plans you've made?
It's a regular Hindu marriage, I didn't want to change the wedding ceremony according to my likeness, as I am the first boy in my family to get married I wanted my parents to decide everything.
P.S I wanted a Christian wedding.
- You are a Kashmiri Pandit, any special wedding ritual you can share with us?
We have a ceremony called ' Devgon', in which the bride/groom sits in his/her old clothes under a piece of cloth held by maternal relatives on the 4 corners and then the realtives pour milk over the cloth held over groom/bride and make them bath.
- Any special honeymoon plans that you have?
We have Syhchelles and Maldives in mind, so have to choose, I guess I have a month to decide.
- Tell us something about your character in your upcoming show?
My character name is Ali Bahadur, he is the illigitmate son of the king of Jhansi raghunath Rao (Predecessor of Gangadhar Rao), he was expecting the throne would come to him after the death of Maharaja but it went to his younger brother Gangadhar Rao. So he envy Gangadhar rao, but he is a duel face character, positive in front of Gangadhar and an evil behind.
- Lastly, a message for your fans
Thank you everyone for accepting me as an actor and asking for more of me to watch on screen. I would keep entertaining you all and get better with everything I do. Keep showering your love. God bless you all.
Wishing Naveen and Shubhi a very happy married life and wishing both of them success in their respective careers.
