JAMMU:  Dogri Play “Dangar”  was staged by Dogri Sathya Mandal Ramnager (Udhampur) on the 2nd day of the ongoing 2nd Theatre Festival-2018 being organized by Sangam Theatre Group Reasi and supported by Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India) here at Abhinav Theatre Jammu , today Sh R. S. Pathania MLA Ramnagar constituency was the Chief guest while Dr. Arminder Singh Amn Add. Secretary J&K Academy of art, culture and languages was preside over the function while Ajay Jamwal MD Jamwal Group of collages was the guest of honor on the occasion,  the play was written and  directed by Jagdeep Dubay. 

The play revolves around  four characters. Every character is equally connected to each other but are having different mind-set. The central character of the play was Barfu Ram.The Story of the play reflects border area problems. Chief Guest Mahesh Sharma appreciated the efforts made by the organizers and also appreciated the performance of the artists. On the occasion M. Akram Khan Director Sangam Theatre Group said that there are still certain drawbacks within the theatre culture. If theatre activities take place and shows are organized on a regular basis, people would connect to it and start attending such shows. I feel really nice that we are trying to revive the theatre culture. We want that more and more people should participate and witnessed and thanks the Ministry of culture (GOI) for support ed the event. The artists who performed were Vipan Upadhaya as Bafro Ram, Rajni Khajuria as Pakhru, Raj kumar as Neta, Vaid Madhotra as Munshi, Jagdeep dubey as Noor Ali, Rajesh Dubey as Chiru, and Ashutosh Prashar as Chusru.


The music was given by Rajesh Dubey, Lights Pawan Sharma, Make-up by Vaid Madhotra, Costumes by Vipan Upadhaya . and Set was designed by Raj Kumar. Prominent personality, theatre artist and directors included Anil Bharti, Manzoor Mir, Surinder Goel,  Kusam Tikoo, Shadab Khan, Sapna Soni, Neeraj Kesar, Promeela Koul, Parveen Akhtar, Rohit Bhat, Shazi Khan, Vijay Goswami, Raja Aamir Khan and other spectators witness the play and appreciated.The Programme was compared by renewed headrest Sapna soni. Tomorrow Samooh Theatre Group (Regd) will present Hindi play ”Oedipus Rex” Directed by Ravinder Sharma, originally written by Sophocles and translated by J.N. Kaushal.
