RAJOURI: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa on Friday chaired a meeting to review the functioning of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in the district. The meeting focused on strengthening livelihood opportunities and enhancing community development initiatives.
The ADDC directed the establishment of a Rural Haat at the Salani Bus Stand to promote rural products and provide a marketing platform to self-help groups (SHGs). The Executive Officer of the Municipality, Yusaf ul Umar, was instructed to identify and provide suitable space for the Haat.
In addition, a community-managed training center is to be set up in an abandoned school building located in Ward No. 08. The ADDC directed that this initiative be undertaken in consultation with the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri to ensure the productive use of the facility.
The ADDC emphasized the importance of utilizing resources effectively to empower rural communities, improve livelihoods, and strengthen SHGs. He called for close coordination among departments to achieve the objectives of the NRLM. The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Rajouri, Maqsood Ahmed, ACD, Vijay Kumar Verma, E.O. Municipality, Yusaf ul Umar and District Program Manager NRLM, Kamran Handed.
