RS PURA: The All J&K Jat Sabha today organized a solemn Shradhanjali Samaroh to honor the memory of Ch. Piara Singh, a prominent political and social figure, former President of the Sabha, and father of BJP MLA from Bahu Constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa. The event was held in RS Pura, attended by community members and dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Manjit Singh, President of the Sabha and former Minister, highlighted the remarkable contributions of Ch. Piara Singh to the community and society at large. He emphasized that Ch. Piara Singh’s tenure as President of the Jat Sabha, spanning nearly 37 years, was a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to the upliftment of his community.
“Ch. Piara Singh led the Jat Sabha with a singular focus on advancing the welfare of his people. His leadership was marked by a deep sense of responsibility, unyielding determination, and a clear vision for unity and progress. He not only advocated for the rights of the Jat community but also worked tirelessly to address the broader challenges faced by society,” he said.
The former Minister maintained that under Ch. Piara Singh’s stewardship, the Jat Sabha emerged as a formidable platform for social justice, empowerment, and development. His ability to unite people across various walks of life and inspire collective action was unparalleled, he added.
Manjit Singh said that Ch. Piara Singh’s legacy is a source of inspiration for all, urging everyone to follow in his footsteps and work towards creating a society rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and progress.Pertinent to mention here that Ch. Piara Singh served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly representing the Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment from 1996 to 2002. Renowned for his selfless service, he earned respect across the political and social spectrum. For an unprecedented 37 years, he led the J&K Jat Sabha as its President, tirelessly advocating for the rights and welfare of the community.
His leadership extended beyond the Sabha, leaving an indelible mark in the transport and financial sectors. As President of the All J&K Motor Transport Association for 10 years and the All J&K Motors Financier Association for 15 years, he championed progress, unity, and visionary reforms that strengthened these crucial sectors.
The programme culminated with prayers and tributes, as attendees remembered Ch. Piara Singh’s immense contributions to society.
