BANDIPORA: On the directions of transport commissioner J&K, Team ARTO Bandipora conducted a traffic checking drive at Papchan, during which over 140 vehicles were inspected and challans were issued, including 25 compoundable challans totaling ₹30600 in fines. The drive specifically targeted several key traffic violations that pose serious risks to road safety.

The checking focused on common but high-risk violations that significantly contribute to accidents and injuries including Riding two-wheelers without a helmet, Driving four-wheelers without wearing a seat belt, Operating vehicles without a functional speed-limiting device, Wrong or unauthorized parking causing obstruction and congestion, driving without valid motor insurance, which is a violation of the Motor Vehicles Act and leaves victims uncompensated in case of accidents.

Such targeted enforcement drives aim to deter habitual violations, create visible deterrence, and reinforce that non-compliance will attract financial penalties and legal action.
