POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a joint meeting with revenue and army officials in the conference hall of the DC office Poonch. The primary focus was to review the progress of land acquisition, requisition, and de-requisition cases related to defense.
During the meeting, officials discussed various issues, including the rental compensation for defense land. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of timely provision of necessary revenue documents to the army authorities to facilitate joint demarcation and spot verification. Tehsildars were instructed to ensure that these documents were completed and submitted at the earliest.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the need for a clear demarcation plan for the timely resolution of land-related cases. Tehsildars were tasked with using geo-referencing for the demarcation of mine areas.
Army representatives raised concerns regarding violations of the Works of Defence Act (WODA) and related guidelines. The chair took these concerns seriously, directing SDMs and tehsildars to enforce compliance and address any existing violations promptly. The meeting also highlighted several cases of delayed rental compensations, with directives issued to expedite their resolution. The meeting was attended by Station Headquarter 93, 10 and 120 Infantry Brigade, Assistant Defence Estates Office Rajouri besides all Tehsildars and concerned officers were present.
