SHOPIAN: A meeting on the conduct of Gram Sabhas across the district was today held at Mini Secretariat Shopian in order to plan the rural development holistically. During the meeting, the DDC impressed upon the officers to formulate plans in consultation with locals and as per their needs and government norms. The planning must be a thoughtful activity and as per ground truthing and feasibility, he added.
The departments were instructed to formulate rural development plans including convergence plans after meticulous and holistic planning at the pre and planning stage. The community driven works be prioritised with the aim to make tangible and durable assets across the district to fill development gaps, Shahid Saleem instructed.
Senior officers were directed to monitor the conduct and proceedings of Gram Sabhas while field level functionaries were asked to attend these. The DC directed for saturation of self-employment schemes and sought status of sponsorship cases of employment schemes.ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone; ACD, ACR and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
