SRINAGAR: Mission Director (MD), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K, Khurshid Ahmad Shah today convened an internal meeting of Mission Directorate, Jal Jeevan Mission in the UT of J&K. The meeting was attended by the Consultants, Project Managers, Chief Chemists, Technical officers and other staff of Mission Directorate, JJM, J&K.
The MD enquired about the field visits undertaken by the consultants and asked for their feedback about technical feasibility and source sustainability reports entrusted to them in various districts of J&K. The chair was informed that most of the reports stand submitted however some reports are pending owing to snow bound far flung areas in Kashmir and hilly inaccessible areas in the Jammu Division.
MD directed the consultants to complete the whole process in the first half of April. He also enjoined upon the consultants and project managers to conduct the survey of left out areas for which pre-feasibility reports are awaited from field divisions. The chair also reviewed the progress under Har Ghar Jal certification, and urged the Project Managers and District Project Management Units to speed up the process for certifying remaining Har Ghar Jal reported villages.
MD also enquired about the targets set for water testing and achievements from Executive Engineer, Water Quality Monitoring & Surveillance. He was assured by the chief chemists that water testing targets will be achieved soon. The meeting also discussed expenditure related details, scheme completion and Functional Household Tap Connections provided till date.
