JAMMU: Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bomal celebrated the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj under the aegis of Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj at Shri Guru Ravi Dass Mandir Bomal. Thousands of devotees gathered to seek Guru Ji’s blessings, with Swami Ji delivering spiritual sermons emphasizing the teachings of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj.
Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj highlighted the importance of education, quoting, "Madho Avidhya Hitt keen Vivek Deep Maleen," meaning education changes fate lines. He also stressed unity among society, urging the sangat to live in harmony like honeybees, citing, "Saadh Sangat Mil Rahiye Madho Jese Madhup Makhira."
Addressing social concerns, Swami Ji raised alarm over drug addiction, calling it a global problem. He urged people to prioritize education and spirituality, stating, "Ravidass Makhira Kyada Pujiye Jo Chadhe Chadhe Utraye, Naam Maharas Pujiye Jo Chadhe Nahi Utraye."
Sham Lal Basson, speaking at the event, linked the teachings of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj with the three commandments of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: Educate, Agitate, and Organize. He highlighted Ambedkar’s contributions to constitutional rights and his role as a liberator for women and the underprivileged.
Basson also announced that the Adhoc Committee of All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha (Regd) has constituted an Election Board to oversee the membership drive and Sabha elections. The event was graced by Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA, who also took blessings of Guru Ji. Renowned singer Sonu Heer and other sewadars sang devotional bhajans, adding to the spiritual ambiance. Darshan Loach (JKAS) emphasized the necessity of unity for the implementation of constitutional rights, citing historical examples.
Presidents of various branch Sabhas, including Akhnoor, Khour, Godhan, Pyan, Mishriwala, Jaswan, Thandapani, and Sunderbani, were honored during the occasion. Those recognized by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bomal included Sham Lal Basson, M.R. Bangotra (Retd. CEO), Darshan Lal Loach (JKAS), Gourav Ravidasia, Kuldeep Raj Fouji, Surjeet Singh Heer, Tarsem Lal Loach, and Surinder Devgowda.
The sewadars of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bomal served Langar Prashad to thousands of devotees. The event received widespread appreciation for its organization.
