KISHTWAR: To promote art and nurture young talent, a Zonal Level Kala Utsav was organized at the Multipurpose Hall of Government Higher Secondary School Kishtwar. The event, a key initiative of the Government of India, saw a large turnout of participants from various schools of the Kishtwar zone. The event was held under the guidance of District Cultural Activities Incharge Avni Sen and Zonal Nodal Officer Amresh Parihar (Master).
The Principal of the host school was the Chief Guest, while the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) was the Guest of Honour. The event witnessed several competitions. New Era Public School secured first and third positions in Solo Dance, while Daffodil Public School claimed second place. Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar bagged first place in Solo Song followed by Bhartiya Vidya Mandir clinching second place and Boys Higher Secondary School Kishtwar the third position.
In Arts/Drawing, Islamia Faridia emerged as the winner, with SDM School taking second, and Daffodil School securing third place. In the Theatre/Mimicry competition, SDM School Kishtwar took the top spot. Meanwhile in Group Song, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir won first place, and SDM School came in second whereas in Group Dance, Adarsh Bal Niketan took first, SDM School secured second, and Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar placed third.
The participants were evaluated by a panel of judges, and the winners will proceed to represent their zone at the district and state levels. The event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their talents and highlighted the importance of integrating the arts into education.
