  • CM appealed to check nexus between police & revenue officials to help grabbers in Ramgarh

JAMMU: Congress Party on Thursday has expressed serious concern over the fearless land grabbers who are grabbing land of poor people with the help of revenue officials and police department in Samba district. In a statement, senior vice president of Samba district, Congress Party Babal Gupta alleged that the land grabbing in Samba district in general and Ramgarh particularly going on without any check and poor people are being harassed by the gang of grabbers.

He alleged that there is complete silence on the part of revenue officials, administration and police even as several cases were brought into their notice. “Last night several armed people with sharp edged weapons and revolvers tried to grab land of a poor man namely Satpal Singh of Rari village in Ramgarh even as the police was informed three days back following a similar attempt,” said Gupta.

He said that “Mafia is working to grab land of the poor people and they have been doing these things with the support of revenue and police department.” He appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene and check why SHO Ramgarh and Samba police has become a mute spectator to such incidents which have put serious question mark on the security situation.

“Poor people are living under the fear. They cannot go to the police for complaints against such goons who allegedly have criminal records. They have already stabbed Satpal who has been hospitalized,” he alleged. There is no check on the land grabbing incidents which has involved criminals and influential people, he alleged and further appealed the Chief Minister to personally look into the incidents.
