JAMMU: Expressing deep concern over the loss of human lives, property and also studies of the children residing in shelling hit areas of Rajouri and Poonch, Dr. Shazad Malik, Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath University today urged the union government to help the state government in establishing makeshift schools and hostels so that the precious time of the students of these areas is not affected. Dr. Shazad who is himself native of border town Mendhar in district Poonch in an appeal to the Union Home minister Rajnath Singh demanded special arrangements like hostel facilities for these  students who are not able to attend their classes due to unprovoked shelling from Pakistani side.

He said interruption during  precious study time  is 'Irreversible Loss’ to the nation. The education sector has been badly hit in border areas during the past 5-6 months due to often incidents of shelling from across the border. The VC also appealed the Civil society to come forward and share this responsibility of helping the government to make arrangements of special schools and hostels for these borderland children who suffer the most during the shelling as it also causes a psychological impact on their minds.
