SRINAGAR: Contingent Paid Cook Education Employees Monday staged a protest in Kashmir capital Srinagar to press for their long pending demands including regularization and release of salaries. Scores of the employees who assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar alleged that Education Department miserably failed to address their genuine grievances.

“We are being directly recruited under SRO 308 but only a few reap benefits under it. Since 2011, we have not been provided wages under Minimum Wages Act,” they said. The protesting employees told news agency CNS that they have serving the department day in day out and even during crisis the government avails their service. They appealed the higher authorities to look into the matter and address their problems.
