UDHAMPUR: Army has been in the forefront to propagate the importance of education among the AWAM and facilitating avenues for talent amongst the students. To take these initiatives further, the Indian Army organised a Drawing and Painting Competition at Government Higher Secondary School, Gool in Ramban district.

A total of 55 students participated in the competition with unbridled enthusiasm. The aim of this competition was to boost the morale of the students while inculcating competitive spirit and in turn tap budding talent. Students creatively used this platform as an entertaining way of addressing environment conservation issues, which was the theme of the competition. It was heartening to see the number of young students including girls, coming forward to showcase their talent and demonstrate their concern for the noble cause.

The event culminated with attractive prizes being distributed for the winners. All other participants were given appropriate gifts to boost their morale and keep up their indomitable spirit. The event will go a long way in fostering bond of friendship between the AWAM and the men in uniform and more importantly prove to be a small step towards identifying and showcasing the immense but unexplored talent among the youth of the region.
