SHOPIAN: Four Policemen guarding the minority community were killed when militants attacked on a police post in Zainapora area in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. As per the reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, "a group of militants opened fire at the police post in Zainapora, resulting in to death of three security guards and injuries to another at Zainapora."
The injured cop was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, where from he was referred to Srinagar, however he succumbed to injuries raising the death toll to four. Moreover, the militants after carrying out the deadly attack decamped with four service rifles from the policemen.
Meanwhile, a joint team of army and SOG launched a massive hunt to nab the assailants. While as, the slain constables are identified as Mehrajuddin (belt no. 477/ Spn) of Chewa Ajas Bandipora, Hamidullah (belt no. 860/ Spn) of Fatehpora Anantnag, Anees Ahmad Mir (belt no. 480/ Spn) of Souch, Kulgam. The Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM) militant outfit has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
