JAMMU: The 128th birth anniversary of the Architect of Indian Constitution, founding father of Republic of India and Independent India’s first law & Justice Minister Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal at New Rehari, Dogra Hall of Ward No. 8 and Headquarters of Masha Sadar Sabha. BJP State incharge IT & Social Department Sh. Jaidev Rajwal took part in all the functions and paid floral tributes to Babasaheb BR Ambedkar and threw light on his life journey and teachings he had imparted among countrymen. Hundreds of people who participated in the functions hailed Dr. Ambedkar over his contribution for waging a life-long struggle for a modern India free of caste and other prejudices, ensuring equal rights for women and weaker sections of the society.
While speaking in a celebration, Sh. Rajwal recalled that Dr. Ambedkar, a widely read scholar and exceptional legal celebrity, had made priceless role to the framing of the Indian Constitution. “Bhimrao fought his way through the entrenched oppression of belonging to a lower-caste family to become a lawyer, political leader, economist, torchbearer of the anti-caste movement and one of India’s greatest liberal, intellectual thinkers. Babasaheb’ BR Ambedkar is revered for his contribution towards the upliftment of Dalits and arduous struggle against untouchability and caste discrimination. He emphasized on religious, gender and caste equality and also introduced the reservation system to create a social balance amongst the classes”, Mr. Rajwal added.
While sharing his thoughts in birth anniversary celebrations at New Rehari, Mr. Rajwal said that it is the need of hour that we must follow the footsteps of Babasaheb and try our best to fulfill his dreams of bringing equality in the nation. He called upon youth to gear up to make New India a prosperous nation. Soon after, Mr. Rajwal visited to SC localities and had tea, snacks with them on ‘Rashtriya Samarsta Diwas’ and also made them aware about Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s initiatives for the upliftment of schedule caste community and imparting them their constitutional rights. He stated that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, country has witnessed immense growth in every field.
“India and Jammu & Kashmir State in particular have achieved scores of milestone in Modi and the spree of development is still rampant. Various schemes that include 3% reservation to IB dwellers and 3% reservation to Pahari speaking people including SCs, Rs 3.5 lakh for treatment of Kidneys and Heart, elevation of income ceiling up to 2.5 lakh for guardians to gain scholarship for their wards, 103rd amendment in Prevention of Atrocities Act on SCs, 128th birth anniversary celebration of Dr. Ambedkar throughout the year, 80% SC beneficiary in Ujwala Yojana under which 7 crore gas connection were given and many more have been executed under the dynamic and visionary leadership of PM Sh. Narendra Modi”, he added.
