DEHRADUN:  Babar, the Pashmina Activist was formally invited by  Graphics Era University, Dehradun for a talk. He was invited to share his work with the MBA and BBA students at the campus and share his project work with them. Babar is the founder of the Global Pashmina Goat Project and the University had organized the talk for students where the focus was Entrepreneurship, Problem Solving, Social change and building a social enterprise. Babar shared the challenges of the Pashmina Eco-System of India due to climate change and fake pashmina.

The students were shown a documentary of the work of the Pashmina activist which was followed by intense question and answer session. The students of Graphics Era University showed eager interest to work with Babar as interns and participate and learn about the pashmina eco system of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. Babar took the opportunity to share his journey and challenges faced by him and the creative ways of finding solutions to problems and how he has been able to manage a large impact with his work. Babar got a standing ovation from three hundred students at the Graphics Era University. Featured regularly in state, national and international media, he has been referred many times as “the most credible man on Pashmina in the world”.

 He is also a proud recipient of the Shri. Rabindranath Tagore, B R Ambedkar Award, Rajiv Gandhi Excellence, Bharat Gaurav Awards, Karmaveer Chakra instituted with UN. As a professional Babar has worked with top organizations including McKinsey & Company Inc. and Computer Associates in India, USA, UK, Middle East and Saudi Arabia as a Business Consultant, Hacker and an Information Security Architect and Project Manager. He is a graduate in Electronics and a Post Graduate in Business and hold over 25 High End International Business and Computer Certifications and is also a Certified PMP from PMI (USA). Babar is a WIRED Innovation Fellow UK, REX Global Fellow and a multiple TEDx speaker and a TED Residency finalist New York. Babar is also an author and his book “6 Times Thinner, the call of Pashmina” is becoming popular with school and college students.
