SRINAGAR / CHANDIGARH: A few days before the announcement of heavy rains by administration in Kashmir, due to which the level of water on the Jhelum river was very high, in which the atmosphere of district Anantnag of the valley had become quite stressful because the loss of people in the valley and business establishments of India was not fully completed after the hits of floods in 2014 and now the same fear woken up in the people of the valley and keeping the situation in views, people living in areas along embankments of the Jhelum river and streams, and in low-lying areas of central Kashmir were advised to remain vigilant, three (3) people died due to heavy rain related incidents and the weather department has indicated heavy rains for the next 2-3 days after seeing the instructions given by the administration, all the schools and colleges of the valley have been closed for the next few days.

In a press statement issued here, Senior Vice President of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Lok Sabha MP, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura said that, "We should rise above politics and stand with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in this difficult hour and if we get any indications from Jammu-Kashmir on this stressful situation, a special team will be constituted by the Punjab Rural Development Society and will send to Kashmir for all possible help and cooperation will be made in this regard. Today during a telephonic conversation with former Speaker and present MLA from Eidgah constituency, Mubarak Gul, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura enquired the situation of floods in certain parts of state and Mr. Brahmpura assured for all possible help and support shall be provided in this regard. 

It is pertinent to mention over here that Ranjit Singh Brahmpura also said that "We prayed before Almighty God that everything will be in right manner If we get any indications in future for this stressful situation, then the Punjab Group of Rural Development Society will send a special team of (4) persons who will be reviewed on these circumstances and this team will work under the presence of Damanjeet Singh who is OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to Ranjit Singh Brahmpura. Likewise, the team of (4) persons from the core group of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Society will be constituted specifically which will work under the presence of Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani, who is Chairman sports wing and secretary with foreign affairs. The headquarters of these two organizations will be at the office of the Information Building in Srinagar from where it will reviewed the situations.
