SRINAGAR: Draw of lots (Qurrah) for selection of pilgrims of Hajj 2015 was held today at Hajj Committee of India Server at Mumbai with real time display on computer screens in the office of State Hajj Committee. The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Executive Officer, J&K State Hajj Committee and a large number of pilgrims were present on the occasion.

 

Out of 29755 applicants, 2541 had been registered under Reserve Category A (pilgrims aged 70 year above) and 1946 under Reserve Category B (4th time applicants). As already notified, the State has got a quota of 6366 seats out of which 4487 pilgrims had been registered under Categories A & B, as mentioned above. For remaining 1879 seats, the pilgrims have been provisionally selected on basis of draw of lots. The list of pilgrims selected under reserve categories is also publicised for general information on website of State Hajj Committee’s www.jkshc.com and Hajj Committee of India’s website www.hajcommittee.com

KATRA: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has made elaborate arrangements for the larger number of pilgrims who are likely to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji during Navratras, which are commencing from tomorrow. These arrangements include ensuring proper water and power supply along the Track leading to the Shrine, sanitation and availability of special fast related food at the Bhojanalayas of the Shrine Board.

 

In this context, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, reviewed the to-date status of these arrangements with Dr. M. K. Kumar and Mr. B. Mohandaas, Additional Chief Executive Officers, Deputy Chief Executive Officers, concerned engineers and unit heads of the Shrine Board, keeping in view the large flow of pilgrims expected during the Navratras. Dr. Bhandari, giving details of various arrangements made for the Navratras, informed that the Bhawan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Atka and the area surrounding it have been decorated with flowers. All the routes leading to the Holy Cave Shrine have been fully maintained for smooth movement of pilgrims, besides ensuring sufficient supplies of provisions, food, water etc. along the Track.

JAMMU: The advance online booking of helicopter tickets for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2015 shall commence on 20th March, 2015 at 10 AM. Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has made arrangements with Pawan Hans Limited and Global Vectra Helicorps Limited for providing heli-services on the Neelgrath – Panjtarni – Neelgrath Sector and the Himalayan Heli Services Private Limited for heli-services on the Pahalgam- Panjtarni-Pahalgam Sector.

 

Giving further details, Sh. P. K. Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, informed that the on-line helicopter ticket booking facility shall be available to the intending Yatris from 20th March, 2015 on the websites of the aforesaid Companies. The Heli-operators shall also launch advance booking on 20th March, 2015 through their appointed agents. The Chief Executive Officer, informed that, based on competitive bidding, the one way per passenger heli-fare for Neelgrath - Panjtarni and Pahalgam - Panjtarni Sector has been fixed at Rs 1950/- and Rs 4190/-, respectively, for Yatra - 2015.

 

The Yatris who wish to avail heli-service for their pilgrimage are not required to seek Advance Registration through the designated Bank Branches as their applications for purchasing heli tickets contain the required information and shall be treated as Yatra permits for undertaking the pilgrimage. However, all such Yatris shall not be allowed to board the heli-services unless they produce the required Compulsory Health Certificate issued by authorised Doctor/ Institutes which have been notified by the Governments of the States in which they reside. Thus, every heli-travelling Yatri shall have to furnish a Compulsory Health Certificate at the time of boarding the helicopter at Neelgrath or Pahalgam, without which the boarding pass will not be issued to the pilgrims.
