JAMMU: Divisional Soil Survey Scheme under the Directorate of Agriculture Production and Farmer’s Welfare Jammu organized a Two Day Training Programme on Soil Health Management at Batote. As many as 50 Farmers/Rural Youth of District Ramban participated in the workshop which concluded today.
The Training Programme was part of the series of District Level training programs being convened under Capacity Building Component of HADP Project 19 J&K Soil and Land Resources Information Systems for Planning and Soil Health Management (JKSLRI) for the Year 2024-25.
On the first day, the programme commenced by lighting of traditional lamp by DDC member Batote Jagbir Das in presence of Divisional Soil Survey Officer Jammu, and other dignitaries The resource persons gave detailed presentations on judicious use of Fertilizers, Sustainable Soil Health Management, Physical Properties of Soils, Soil Health Card Scheme, Land Capability Classification and Integrated Nutrient Management.
DSSO Jammu Suresh Kumar Khajuria, Scientist RHRS Bhaderwah Dr Sanjeev Choudhary; DAO Extension Ramban Ravi Sharma; Assistant Soil Chemist Jammu Dr Neeraj Rajwal; ASSO Jammu Dr Aadil Rashid; and SCA Vikramjeet Singh were the resource persons. The programme culminated with the distribution of participation certificates and Soil Sample collection Kits among the participants.
