SRINAGAR: In a commendable effort to combat climate change and enhance urban greenery, the Forest Department today organized a winter plantation drive under the campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' at Basivan Zeethyar, Srinagar. This initiative aims to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment and encourage community participation in afforestation efforts.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Srinagar, Range Officers and forest frontline staff. "Planting a tree is not just about adding greenery; it is about nurturing life. With the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, we aspire to create a legacy for future generations. Every tree planted today is a step toward a healthier planetâ, stated the Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle Tawheed Ahmad Deva.
