JK MONITOR - Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals, Police seizes 2 vehicles; arrests 2 drivers in Sopore

SRINAGAR: Cracking a whip on illegal mining & transportation of minerals, Police have seized 2 vehicles and arrested 2 drivers in Sopore. A police team of Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHO Police Station Tarzoo seized 2 vehicles (tractors) & arrested their drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals.

They have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar resident of Haritar Sopore and Parvaiz Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Ahmad Rather resident of Tarzoo Sopore.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are appealed to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
