SRINAGAR: In line with the nationwide Swachh Bharat Naya Sankalp initiative, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K organized a series of cleanliness drives on Friday at various educational institutions across J&K. A mega cleanliness drive was organised at the Higher Secondary School (HSS) Chadoora and several middle schools within the Sports-zone in district Budgam.
The drives, organized under the guidelines issued from the Directorate of YSS J&K witnessed huge participation of students, field staff of the Department of Youth Services and Sports and general public. These drives are part of a broader commitment to promoting hygiene and environmental awareness among youth. The activities involved active participation from students, teachers, and local volunteers, who joined hands in cleaning school premises, planting trees, and spreading awareness about the importance of cleanliness and sustainable living.
Under the Swachh Bharat Naya Sankalp Initiative, a cleanliness Drive was organised under Swach Bharat Naya Sankalp in Ganderbal districtâs Kangan sports zone.
The event took place at Eco Park Manigam. The staff of Zone Kangan actively participated in the drive, ensuring that the park was thoroughly cleaned and beautified. The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of YSS, is a significant step towards keeping public spaces clean and pollution-free. The drive reflects a commitment to sustainable practices and reinforces the message of environmental responsibility within the community.
Meanwhile various sports zones in Anantnag district organised a series of cleanliness drives under the ongoing initiative. These activities were part of the Mera Yuva Bharat program, aimed at promoting cleanliness, community service, and environmental awareness among the youth. The events were marked by enthusiastic participation from students and officials, contributing to cleaner and healthier surroundings in each sports zone.
In Doru sports Zone, the cleanliness drive at ShaelNag Ganiepora Dooru saw participation from both students and officials. The participants were encouraged to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. Simultaneously i zone Achabalâs Health & Wellness Center, students and field staff of the Department of YSS actively participated in a cleanliness drive. The cleanliness drive was organised at Bus Adda Panzoo as well.
In the Sports Zone of Mattan a massive cleanliness drive was conducted at the Sports Stadium Seer and Girls High School Seer, followed by a Swachhta Pledge.
Jammu division also saw an enthusiastic participation of the students and youth in general while cleaning their surroundings under the programme. In Panchayat Pochhal B2, Block Kishtwar, the Seva Se Seekhen program was launched to inspire the youth to learn the values of selfless service and community engagement. The initiative focused on engaging volunteers in various activities, such as cleaning public spaces, assisting the elderly, and creating awareness about social and environmental issues.
The program aimed at teaching young people essential life skills by involving them in meaningful service-oriented activities. By giving back to the community, participants gained firsthand experience of the power of collective action in solving common challenges.
