UDHAMPUR: On the recommendations of District Development Council members, the District Administration, Udhampur under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, launched a unique initiative to repair all defunct hand pumps across the district. As of now, 278 hand pumps in various locations have been successfully repaired.

Deputy Commissioner stated that the main objective of this initiative is to make all hand pumps functional and provide a reliable drinking water facility to the people of the district. This effort aims to ensure that the general public does not suffer from water scarcity during the summer.

The Deputy Commissioner added that the district administration is committed to ensuring that not a single hand pump remains defective in the district. District Development Council members and local residents expressed their gratitude to the District Administration, particularly the Deputy Commissioner, for this valuable initiative.
