RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a review meeting to assess progress of ongoing road projects, status of new projects and maintenance of existing roads under the Public Works Department (PWD) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the overall status of road maintenance works being carried out across the district. He also took stock of progress on roads discussed during previous review meetings, particularly the Rajgarh Road and the Maitra–Bailwat Road, and directed officers concerned to ensure timely completion of all pending maintenance works.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed Executive Engineers to immediately undertake repairs of potholes, improve road surfaces and ensure all roads remain safe and motorable. He directed regular monitoring of road conditions and prompt intervention to address issues affecting public convenience.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed officers to prepare estimates under the CAPEX Budget and expedite the tendering process so that improvement and upgradation works can be initiated without delay.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan said the District Administration remains committed to addressing issues faced by the people and ensuring better road connectivity. He assured that bottlenecks hindering construction, upgradation or maintenance of roads would be taken up with the appropriate authorities for early resolution.
Among those present were Executive Engineers of PWD Divisions Ramban and Banihal, Executive Engineers of PMGSY Divisions Ramban and Banihal and other officers concerned.
