DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Krishan Lal, today chaired a review meeting to assess the action taken on the public grievances and developmental issues raised during the Block Diwas-cum-Public Outreach Programme held at Malanoo on July 11, 2026.
The meeting witnessed a detailed department-wise review of the grievances and development-related demands projected by the public. Concerned officers apprised the Chair of the action taken so far and highlighted various bottlenecks affecting the timely execution of development works and the resolution of public grievances.
Taking serious note of complaints regarding alleged fake beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), the DDC directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to publish the list of AAY beneficiaries for verification at the grassroots level, ensuring greater transparency and accountability.
Reviewing issues related to the education sector, the DDC instructed the School Education Department to ensure regular attendance of teachers and students in educational institutions and strengthen monitoring mechanisms to improve academic standards.
Regarding the replacement of wooden electricity poles, the DDC directed the Power Development Department to intervene immediately and expedite the execution of the replacement works to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the affected areas.
On the issue of potholes and road maintenance, the DDC instructed the R&B and PMGSY Departments to undertake the necessary repair works on priority and improve the condition of roads for the convenience and safety of commuters.
The functioning and infrastructure of health institutions in the area also came under review. The DDC directed the Health Department to address existing deficiencies and ensure the availability of essential healthcare services, adequate medical staff and medicines at all health institutions.
Reviewing the status of PMAY-G cases, the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Doda, informed the Chair that the verification of beneficiaries is presently underway. The DDC directed the concerned officers to complete the verification process expeditiously so that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits without unnecessary delay.
The issue of the Kahara–Jai Road was also discussed during the meeting. The concerned officers informed the Chair that the project is presently facing issues relating to forest clearance. The DDC directed the concerned departments to pursue the matter promptly with the competent authorities and expedite the necessary clearances to facilitate the early execution of the road project.
Reviewing the drinking water scenario in the area, the DDC directed the Jal Shakti Department to promptly identify and report all deficiencies and bottlenecks affecting water supply and ensure the timely availability of safe drinking water to the residents.
Concluding the meeting, the DDC directed all concerned officers to expedite the ongoing development works, resolve bottlenecks through close inter-departmental coordination and ensure the time-bound redressal of public grievances.
The meeting was attended by the SE PWD (R&B), Doda; SE Jal Shakti Department, Doda; CPO, Doda; CMO, Doda; ACD Doda; ACP, Doda; concerned Executive Engineers (XENs) and Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs); officers from the School Education Department and other concerned officers & officials.
