JAMMU: Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of developmental projects being implemented in Samba and Kathua districts under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), JKCIP, CAPEX, Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and NABARD-funded projects.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Agriculture (Central), Sanjeev Rai Gupta; SMS (RL), Krishan Kant; Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua, Jatinder Kumar; District Agriculture Officer Samba, Sanjay Kumar Badyal; ADO (Veg.) Kathua, Vijay Abrol; ASCO Kathua, Murari Lal; SDAO Hiranagar, Ashwani Kumar; SDAO Billawar, Ravi Sharma; SDAO Samba, Rohit Gandotra; besides technical officers and officers from the CSS and Planning Sections of the Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu.

During the meeting, the Director conducted a comprehensive review of the physical achievements, financial expenditure, infrastructure development, fund utilisation and district-wise implementation of approved action plans under all ongoing schemes. He also reviewed the progress of NABARD-funded projects and the implementation of Irrigation Infrastructure and Innovative Water Conservation Techniques for Small and Marginal Farmers under the Baba Jitto Scheme, emphasizing timely completion and quality execution.

Anil Gupta directed all officers to ensure that every developmental work is executed strictly in accordance with the approved action plan and prescribed timelines. He instructed the field officers to closely monitor works, remove implementation bottlenecks and ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising quality.

The Director also stressed the need for expeditious submission of bills to the Treasury to ensure optimum utilisation of allocated funds during the current financial year. He instructed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to maintain financial discipline, process eligible payments promptly and closely monitor both physical and financial progress.

Calling for greater accountability and coordinated efforts, the Director directed officers to maintain proper documentation, submit periodic progress reports on time and strengthen inter-departmental coordination for effective implementation of all flagship programmes.
