JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raman Suri today said the barbaric killing of two innocent Hindu workers from Chhattisgarh in Kulgam has once again exposed the presence of an active terror ecosystem in Jammu Kashmir, asserting that it is now imperative to nail not only the terrorists but also those who provide them shelter, logistics, support and are their sympathisers. He said lasting peace in Kashmir can only be ensured when every link in the terror chain is dismantled without discrimination.
Strongly condemning the gruesome attack, Suri said the selective targeting of the victims after allegedly asking about their religion is a chilling reminder of the Pahalgam terror attack in which innocent tourists were similarly identified on the basis of their faith before being massacred. He said such acts clearly reflect the communal agenda of Pakistan-backed terror outfits.
Raman Suri said the responsibility claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, once again exposes Pakistan's continued proxy war against India. He said Pakistan created TRF to escape international scrutiny while continuing to sponsor cross-border terrorism through new fronts after facing pressure from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). "The Kulgam incident proves that terrorists continue to find shelter in certain pockets and there are still elements willing to provide them protection and assistance which must be nailed”.
He said terrorism has no religion, but it is equally true that terrorist organisations repeatedly misuse religion as a shield to radicalise youth and justify barbaric acts. The repeated targeting of innocent Hindus by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists leaves no room for ambiguity about their motives, he said adding that the statements made by National Conference president Farooq Abdullah is deeply unfortunate that instead of unequivocally condemning the terrorists or demanding strict action against their supporters he is trying to politicise the tragedy by linking it with the restoration of Jammu Kashmir's statehood.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Raman Suri said the nation stands firmly with them and has complete faith in the security forces. He reiterated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India remains committed to eliminating not only terrorists but also every individual and network that provides them shelter, finances or logistical support, ensuring that peace and normalcy in Jammu Kashmir remain irreversible.
