JAMMU: Sat Sharma (CA), president, Jammu and Kashmir BJP, said that the union government under PM Narendra Modi has given true honour to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar through 'Panchteerth'. He was speaking in a meeting of BJP minority morcha at party headquarters, wherein he remembered Dr. Anbedkar, while discussing the ongoing "Samvidhan Gourav Abhiyan" programmes in the UT.

The meeting was convened by minority morcha president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa and attended by office bearers of the morcha.  Sat Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that the union government, under PM Narendra Modi, has reaffirmed its commitment to equality, social justice, and inclusive development, and honoured the lasting legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, through the establishment and development of the Panchteerth. These five sacred sites commemorate Ambedkar’s life, struggles, and achievements, reflecting his contributions in Indian politics and the society.

Sat Sharma, while elaborating, said that the prominent places developed under Panchteerth include Bheem Janmabhoomi, Ambedkar’s birthplace in Mhow (Madhya Pradesh), Dr. Ambedkar Memorial in London, the house where Ambedkar stayed during his higher education, Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, the place where Ambedkar embraced Buddhism, Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai, the site of Ambedkar’s cremation, and Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial in Delhi, 26, Alipur Road, where Ambedkar spent the last years of his life.

Sat Sharma said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the government has undertaken extensive efforts to transform these locations into world class monuments. By developing these sites, the Prime Minister has ensured that Ambedkar’s values of equality, justice, and empowerment resonate with generations to come. The initiative not only honours Ambedkar’s legacy but also inspires citizens to strive for a more inclusive society.

Ranjodh Singh Nalwa said that the development of these sites has also enhanced tourism and economic activity, benefiting the local population. He said that Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals remain a cornerstone of India’s journey towards social and economic equality. Through the Panchteerth initiative, the nation has displayed its gratitude to one of its greatest visionaries. Proceedings of the meeting were conducted by morcha general secretary Santokh Singh.
