POONCH: The 3rd National Lok Adalat of 2026 under the Aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority and Hon’ble High Court of J&K was organized today in all Courts of District Poonch.
The proceedings witnessed enthusiastic participation from Judicial Officers, members of the Bar, bank officials, litigants and the general public. While starting National Lok Adalat Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Poonch, Susheel Singh (Pr. District. & Sessions Judge) highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour. He stressed upon the general public to come forward to take benefit of this Lok Adalat.
Prior to the start of National Lok Adalat, the Chairman DLSA inaugurated the child care room in the district court complex which has been equipped with all the basic necessities. The facility has been made fully furnished recently by the efforts of the Chairman DLSA. The Chairman DLSA was accompanied by judicial officers of the District Headquarter
At District Headquarters Poonch, six benches were constituted for the conduct of the National Lok Adalat, while total eight benches were constituted across the entire district for amicable settlement of cases. First bench was presided by Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Susheel Singh and assisted by Additional District & Sessions Judge Mir Wajahat. Second Bench was presided by Chief Judicial Magistrate Sarfraz Nawaz and assisted by Secretary District Legal Services Authority Rafaqat Hussain. Third Bench was presided by Sub-Judge Special Mobile Magistrate Asma Choudhary and assisted by Principal Magistrate JJB Saloni Annand.
Forth Bench was presided by Additional District & Sessions Judge Mir Wajahat and assisted by District Mobile Magistrate Traffic Jaspreet Kaur. The fifth Bench was Presided by Munsiff Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Surankote Meghna Mohan and assisted by Advocate Iftikhar Hussain Shah. Sixth Bench was presided by Munsiff/JMIC Mendhar Roopsi and assisted by Panel Lawyer Alyas Ahmed Khan. Seventh Bench was presided by District Labour Officer Mohammad Arif and assisted by Labour Inspector Ravinder Singh. Eighth Bench was presided by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Sayeed and assisted by Tehsildar Haveli Azhar Majeed.
A total no of 1293 cases including civil, criminal, MACT, Bank Recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases were taken up in today’s Lok Adalat. Out of these, 883 cases were settled by way of mediation, conciliation and compromise. An amount of Rs.10573613 was settled.
